Why the Illegal Regime Keeps Bullying Our Media

Here’s the basic wisdom about bullies, from bullyonline.org –

Why do people bully?
The purpose of bullying is to hide inadequacy. Bullying has nothing to do with managing etc; good managers manage, bad managers bully. Management is managing; bullying is not managing. Therefore, anyone who chooses to bully is admitting their inadequacy, and the extent to which a person bullies is a measure of their inadequacy. Bullies project their inadequacy on to others:

  1. to avoid facing up to their inadequacy and doing something about it;

  2. to avoid accepting responsibility for their behaviour and the effect it has on others, and,

  3. to reduce their fear of being seen for what they are, namely a weak, inadequate and often incompetent individuals, and
  4. to divert attention away from their inadequacy – in an insecure or badly-managed workplace, this is how inadequate, incompetent and aggressive employees keep their jobs.

Bullying is an inefficient way of working, resulting in disenchantment, demoralisation, demotivation, disaffection, and alienation. Bullies run dysfunctional and inefficient organisations; staff turnover and sickness absence are high whilst morale, productivity and profitability are low. Prosperity is illusory and such organizations are a bad long-term investment. Projection and denial are hallmarks of the serial bully.

Bullying is present behind all forms of harassment, discrimination, prejudice, abuse, persecution, conflict and violence. When the bullying has a focus (eg race or gender) it is expressed as racial prejudice or harassment, or sexual discrimination and harassment, and so on. When the bullying lacks a focus (or the bully is aware of the Sex Discrimination Act or the Race Relations Act), it comes out as pure bullying; this is an opportunity to understand the behaviours which underlie almost all reprehensible behavior. I believe bullying is the single most important social issue of today.

Bullying…
is a form of abuse, and bullies – and unenlightened employers – often go to great lengths to keep their targets quiet, using threats of disciplinary action, dismissal, and gagging clauses. What bullies fear most is exposure of their inadequacy and being called publicly to account for their behavior and its consequences. This makes sense when you remember that the purpose of bullying is to hide inadequacy, and people who bully to hide their inadequacy are often incompetent.

A bully is a person who :

  • has never learnt to accept responsibility for their behaviour
  • wants to enjoy the benefits of living in the adult world, but who is unable and unwilling to accept the responsibilities that are a prerequisite for being part of the adult world.
  • abdicates and denies responsibility for their behaviour and its consequences (abdication and denial are common features of bullying)
  • is unable and unwilling to recognise the effect of their behaviour on others
  • does not want to know of any other way of behaving
  • is unwilling to recognise that there could be better ways of behaving.

Bullying is obsessive and compulsive; the serial bully has to have someone to bully and appears to be unable to survive without a current target.

Despite the facade that such people put up, bullies have low self-confidence and low self-esteem, and thus feel insecure. Low self-esteem is a factor highlighted by all studies of bullying. Because such people are inadequate and unable to fulfil the duties and obligations of their position (but have no hesitation in accepting salary), they fear being revealed. This fear of exposure often borders on paranoia.

Bullies are seething with resentment, bitterness, hatred and anger, and often have wide-ranging prejudices as a vehicle for dumping their anger onto others. Bullies are driven by jealousy and envy. Rejection (which cannot be assuaged) is another powerful motivator of bullying.

Bullies are people who have not learned the lesson of consequences, ie that if they behave well there are good consequences (reward), but if they behave badly there are bad consequences (restriction, sanction, punishment, etc). Since childhood, bullies have learnt that they can avoid the unpleasant consequences of bad behaviour through the instinctive response of denial, blame, and feigning victimhood.

Now, can someone please explain why We The People should tolerate this treatment by this illegal regime?

Lord, bless our Media, and protect their freedoms.  They are the only pillar of democracy we have left.

God bless Fiji

  1. Only the Fiji Times is left now (and Fiji TV to some extent). All the rest of the Fiji media are hopelessly tame. Fiji Sun has now been effectively emasculated under Lomas, and will probably now drop the Hunter appeal.

I am beginning to feel like I have a first hand view of the kind of human pliability that allowed for example, the Nazis to carry out the holocaust.

Can’t really be happening – can it?

Not with the military so divided as it is apparently becoming.

  2. Mais oui, Jean. It is happening because the other media allows the bullies (IR) to win. Pray to Anne Fussell and the Times gang can, to paraphrase Kipling, keep their heads when all about them are losing theirs and blaming it on them.
Pray that the divisions within the military lead to the regime self-imploding.
Pray that the bullies don’t win because we have the strength to stand up to them.
    God bless Fiji

  3. It was 5 am yesterday morning, when my radio woke me up with the news of Fiji coming under marshal law or something, being still groggy.
I’m am very sorry to read (though only a bit) of the troubles in Fiji. Recently, I have been researching the present American situation. I have discovered serious issues that have been going on for some time now in the US. These issues are affecting countries around the world.
The core of these matters lie with the constitution, either a poorly written one or ignored by its government. A very large part of these problems are with the federal reserve banking system, which dominates todays world economy. The head of the beast so so to speak.
Do search online for some films: “zeitgeist” ( skip the first 30 minutes though, really!), “America, freedom to Fascism” by Aaron Russo, “911 revisited”, “Loose Change” and there’s more. There is a lot surfacing right now on the net. Do searches on the information in those films, follow a trail and tell me your not going through the same thing. America is poised like nazi Germany, the constitution ignored on some levels, executive orders in place to eliminate the rest of the constitution, and so on….
At this point i don’t think your constitution is strong enough. I have some questions and ideas if you want them.

May God bless you and Keep you all, Nolen

  4. all this things happen because leaders want power, i cant believe when i hear that the court already rule that Bainimarama’s gov’t in illegal and the next morning he is the one whos going to to be the dictator along with his friend the Sir President. Well we cant say much when there is no law in Fiji anymore, even the media will keep silent now. so what else can we do..everything in Fiji is now illegal. The Pacific forum needs to wake up and fight with the people of Fiji to bring back democracy.

    God bless Fiji.

  5. The pacific forum is trying. What can they or anybody due short of war? I’m not sure some kind of preasure? I know of one person who tried to reason with Frank Bainemarama but to no avail.

If there is division within the military, that would help and no government can stand without the support of the people, as well.

Maybe what you have is fine but…What I would suggest is to get the right people together to write a new constitution.
One that binds all to it, people need to know where their allegiances belong, and what they are going to fight for. It should be one worth dying for. Soldiers need an oath to the constitution (the highest form of law) not a president, maybe congress. The US constitution was formed by people who knew about corrupt governments, and institutions. It is to protect the people from this.

    A verse in Genesis:

God blessed them;(Adam and Eve) and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

The gift of life which is the right to life as given by God which is the means to life as well, with liberty toward land, and labor to people, which means without tax! The gold standard. and so much more…
